RE: Will 275hp and 5.9L do the job?

I have no problems with mine towing a 4300# Jeep. About 9.5 mpg. The upgrade to 300 hp is just that, it does not change the torque where it is needed. I have the Banks Stinger kit on mine. It changes hp and torque. I like the change but the results do not justify the expense.

RE: cummins taking longer to start

Check the starting batteries. I had the same problem with increasingly longer start time. I checked batts with voltmeter. Hooked together they showed good voltage. Separated the two and checked individually. One checked 12.9, other one was 10.9 (bad cell). Replaced batteries, end of problem. Starts immediately.

RE: After 5 years here, I read a lot less.

I must ad that I too have learned much in the 5 yrs I've been reading and do remember many exchanges between some of the aforementioned members, some of which was very useful while some was outright hateful and rude. There are a couple that still practice here frequently. I am addicted and read the forum 2 times daily. Thanks to all for their vast contributions.

RE: Our newly dyed carpet..

I too was inspired, so I did our coach carpet. Used RIT Tan. Came out great. Thanks for the idea.

RE: Looking at Jeep Wrangler Toad

I tow a 2007 Wrangler and I do not disconnect battery. Use a Blue Ox Aventa II tow bar and a Roadmaster Brake Pro for aux braking. There is no pain as alluded by littlebeav that I can see. Is a fun vehicle but the fuel mileage SUCKS! Maybe 15 in town, 18 is all I have seen on highway driving(once). I still love it though!

RE: How will fuel prices affect your use of your Class A

Well, leave it to me to be the dissenter. Diesel prices have essentially stopped my coach. Haven't been out in 6 months and don't plan anyhing in the near future. I choose to let it set rather than contribute to someone's outrageous retirement!

RE: Does anyone have boost gauge on ISB 275RV engine

I have a Banks Stinger system which includes a pyrometer and boost gauge. 23-24psi seemed to be max boost before adding Stinger. Now at full throttle, I see around 35psi. My engine is the 275ISB.

RE: Are these fuel costs going to restrict your travels..??

In spite of what one says, the price of fuel will affect everybody sooner or later, some sooner, some later!

RE: Anybody Canceling Trips Because Of Fuel Prices?

The only thing I've cancelled in my life is working too much! That's why I worked and saved so many years...... RVing takes precedence over everything.Joe, you are the greatest! We should have you as President, then everything would be perfect. You're my idol man!

RE: Run Away Fuel Prices, What Can a Person Do

Since I cannot change the fuel prices, I guess I'll try to get the government to increase my pensions---maybe a Congressional earmark.

RE: Run Away Fuel Prices, What Can a Person Do

So far I hear the adittudes of those that we should just accept what is coming ,I think if we want change we collectively should do something. Not just say change your habits. I saw this coming for years ,when they say turn your lights off to save, separate your trash to save, cut your a/c to save. So this was done, and did we save? NO!it cost us more due to maintance cut to keep up. I think those who believe what their told will suffer without doing something about it. rbertsch - has it right ,its a start to show our strenght and collectively we can try to do something about it.. LOLI agree with time to do something, starting in Nov elections. I say regulate. This rhetoric of supply and demand, free market economy, price in Europe is BS. I do not care what Europe pays, I do not live in Europe! This is GOUGE AND GREED! I would rather pay taxes on fuel than fund some CEO's multi-million dollar retirement account.

RE: I need a quick education on Jeep Wranglers

do you need the seating? how old will the people be that need to fit and climb in the back seat? how BIG are the people for the back seat? Is it just for the dogs, Food, coats?etc? the Jeep will be the same, tow the same, work the same, just one is a little bit longer. We need to know how you plan on using the Jeep before we can help you.I totally agree with Shotgun's thread. I have the 4dr Wrangler and it is great, a fun vehicle. As far as Consumer Reports, their name explains the rating! It's a JEEP thing!
